We were very saddened to hear of the sudden death of Charlbury Stationmaster, John Birch, well known to those who passed through the station on their daily commute.
John died on Thursday 14th April having been ill for some time. His funeral is to take place today, Friday 29th April at 12:45pm at St Mary’s Church, North Leigh, Witney.
John was a very popular, knowledgeable colleague at the station, who will be greatly missed by us at Cafe de la Gare, as well as those he served at Charlbury with such professionalism, dedication and good humour.
