Bodegas Borsao Rosado, Campo de Borja

Light, fruity and refreshing rosé that has an excellent balance of stony cherry fruit and acidity. Very refreshing style that is equally at home as an aperitif or with food.
Bodegas Borsao is in the province of Zaragoza, which is north west of Barcelona. The origins of Borsao date back to 1958, when it was initially a co-operative. In 2001 the three producers Borja, Pozuelo and Tabuenca came together to form Bodegas Borsao. In the short time since they formed the company has gone on to gain international recognition. Borsao source fruit from over 2000 hectares and from 600 different growers which ensures that they always have access to the very best fruit the region has to offer.
Grapes come from 620 member growers covering 2,500 hectares, nearly a third of the region’s total. Vineyards lie in the undulating foothills of the Moncayo mountain, upto 700m above sea level.
In this rather severe and arid climate, with hot dry days and cool nights, Garnacha thrives and represents 70% of total production.
Borsao specialise in the production of Garnacha (Grenache), which occupies over 90% of their vineyard area.
Borsao Rosado is made from 100% Garnacha grown on poor, stony soils in
the foothills of the Moncayo mountain.
In the winery 6 hours cold maceration is followed by long slow
fermentation at controlled temperature for optimum extraction of fruit flavour.
